In Ireland overnight, Gr1-winning & 4-times Gr1-placed Coolmore shuttler & former champion 3YO miler Excellent Art (Pivotal-Obsessive, by Seeking The Gold) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO colt Boris Grigoriev (Excellent Art-Strategy, by Machiavellian) scored over 5 furlongs at Tipperary for trainer Aidan O'Brien. Boris Grigoriev was a 130,000 guineas (A$208,000) yearling at the 2010 UK Tattersalls October Sale. His sire Excellent Art retired with 4 wins (including 2007's UK Gr1 St James's Palace Stakes over 8 furlongs at Royal Ascot, plus 2006's UK Gr2 Mill Reef Stakes over 6 furlongs at Newbury & UK Listed National Stakes over 5 furlongs at Sandown Park) & 5 placings (including 2007's US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Mile over 8 furlongs at Monmouth Park, UK Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over 8 furlongs at Ascot & UK Gr1 Sussex Stakes over 8 furlongs at Goodwood, plus 2006's French Gr1 Prix Morny over 1200m at Deauville & Irish Gr2 Railway Stakes over 6 furlongs at The Curragh) from 11 starts for US$1,238,952 earnings.
