Aust Stakes-Performers Join Hong Kong Stables

A group of "proven stakes performers & promising unbeaten horses left Australia in a shipment to Hong Kong earlier this month" noted racenet.com.au.

  • Previously David Hayes-trained 4YO gelding Voile Rouge (Encosta De Lago-La Bella Dama, by Desert Sun) has joined the stable of Australian trainer John Size; Voile Rouge (passed-in for NZ$420,000 as a yearling at the 2008 NZB Premier Sale at Karaka) finished 3rd in last October's Listed Durbridge Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville & then runner-up in February's Gr3 Carlyon Cup (1600m) at Caulfield, before a creditable 5th behind weight-for-age stars More Joyous & Whobegotyou in February's Gr1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.
  • Also joining John Size is former Bill Slater-trained 3YO gelding Tuxedo (Fusaichi Pegasus-Russian Flair, by Nureyev) who won on debut at Hawkesbury in February; Tuxedo was a 75,000 weanling at the 2008 Magic Millions National Sale & subsequently passed-in for $55,000 as a yearling at the 2009 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast.
  • Formerly Mark Kavangah-trained unbeaten 3YO gelding A Beta Imagination (Bradbury's Luck-All Imagination, by Loosen Up) will join the Casper Fownes stable; A Beta Imagination (a $12,000 weanling at the 2008 Inglis Australian Select Sale) made it 2 wins from 2 starts on Boxing Day at Caulfield.
  • Formerly Mark Kavangah-trained 3YO colt Linked In (Country Reel-Mina, by Dracula) won on debut at Geelong & then finished 3rd (at his 2nd start) in a 3-way photo-finish to January's Listed Zeditave Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield; Linked In (passed-in for $3,500 as a weanling at the 2008 Inglis Great Southern Sale) will now be trained by Tony Cruz.
  • Former Jason Coyle-trained 3YO colt Genki Moochi (O'Reilly-Playful Fingers, by Defensive Play) broke his maiden at Hawkesbury in February; Genki Moochi (a $280,000 yearling at the 2009 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) has joined the HK stable of Tony Millard.
