Kanzan Wins Darley Crown 2011

Gr3-winning & multiple Gr1-placed Darley stallion Commands (Danehill-Cotehele House, by My Swanee) added a black-type success when favoured 4YO mare Kanzan (Commands-Cherry Lodge, by Grand Lodge) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the $150,000 Listed Darley Crown 2011 (1300m) for fillies & mares at Hawkesbury. Kanzan (ridden by Corey Brown for trainer Peter Snowden) defeated fellow 4YO mares Screen (Lonhro-Thespian, by Zeditave) & Dysphonia (Lonhro-Stutter, by Night Shift). Kanzan (a $24,000 yearling at the 2007 Inglis Autumn Sale in Melbourne) now has 4 wins (also including 2010's Listed Ladies Day Cup over 1300m at Hawkesbury) & 6 placings (including 2010's Listed Razor Sharp Handicap over 1200m at Randwick, Listed Silk Stocking Handicap over 1200m at the Gold Coast & Listed Darby Munro Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill, plus 2009's Gr3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield) from 16 starts for $386,050 earnings.
