Planteur Wins France Gr1 Prix Ganay

In France, former Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a Gr1 triumph (& 16th individual Gr1-winner world-wide) when favoured Irish-bred 4YO entire Planteur (Danehill Dancer-Plante Rare, by Giant's Causeway) scored a 1-length victory in the €300,000 (A$414,000) Gr1 Prix Ganay (2100m) for 4YOs & up at Longchamp in Paris. Planteur (ridden by Christophe Soumillon for trainer Elie Lellouche) defeated 4YO mare Sarafina (Refuse To Bend-Sanariya, by Darshaan) & 5YO gelding (Even Top-Taille De Guepe, by Septieme Ciel). Planteur took his record to 5 wins (also including April's Gr2 Prix D'Harcourt over 1400m at Longchamp, plus 2010's Gr2 Prix Noailles over 2100m at Longchamp) & 5 placings (including runner-up in each of 2010's Gr1 Grand Prix De Paris over 2400m at Longchamp, Gr1 Prix Du Jockey-Club over 2100m at Chantilly & Gr2 Prix Niel over 2400m at Longchamp) from 10 starts for €923,157 (A$1.274m) earnings.
