1st Winner For Freshman Sire Econsul

Meanwhile Woodside Park's Gr1-winning 9YO freshman stallion Econsul (Pins-Gypsy Soul, by Centaine) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO colt Mr Jansz (Econsul-Aviation, by Flying Spur) scored over 1200m at Pioneer Park in Alice Springs for trainer Kevin Lamprecht. Mr Jansz was a $2,000 yearling consigned by Bombora Downs at the 2010 Inglis Autumn Sale. His sire Econsul (who has 191 foals from his initial 3 crops) was a NZ$65,000 yearling at the 2003 NZB Select Colts Sale at Karaka. He recorded 3 wins (including the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas over 1600m & Listed Widden Stakes over 1100m) & 4 placings (including the Gr1 Cadbury Australian Guineas over 1600m & Gr3 Skyline Stakes over 1200m) from 28 starts for $884,600 prize-money.
