Thursday, 5th May 2011

In the New Zealand auction ring, Pukekohe-based Jamieson Park paid top price of NZ$85,000 for US-bred unraced 13-year-old mare Down View (Gone West-Fairlight Down, by Dayjur) during the 2nd part of the Broodmare section & closing session at the 3-day NZB National Weanling, Broodmare & Mixed Bloodstock Sale at Karaka in Auckland. Down View (consigned by Trelawney Stud) is the dam of 4 named foals (all winners) including Singapore star Mexican Rose (10-time-winner & 2009 Champion 2YO Filly in Singapore). Down View was sold in-foal to 4-time Gr1-winning NZ Windsor Park shuttler & 1st-season covering sire Mastercraftsman & Jamieson Park's James Chapman declared: "We had a few in our catalogue that we wanted & we targeted her & we are thrilled that now we get to take her home. She is a lovely mare & has done a great job at stud, so hopefully we can get some good progeny from her."
