RSPCA Brands Warrnambool "Killing Fields For Horses"

Friday, 6th May 2011

Meanwhile RSPCA Victoria President Dr Hugh Wirth told The Herald-Sun "too many horses had died at Warrnambool" & noted the "task set for the horses (the Grand National Steeple is 5500m) has been too much". Wirth added: "They were asked to do something that put them at risk & that risk was too much. So many horses have been killed at Warrnambool & now we have health & saftey issues as well. The club will have to deal with this." Earlier this week Wirth described Warrnambool as "the killing fields for horses. That's how bad it is. Every time they do something at Warrnambool there are deaths."
