Tinamou Wins Warrnambool Cup

Former Woodlands Stud stallion & 1990 Gr1 English Derby winner Quest For Fame (Rainbow Quest-Aryenne, by Green Dancer) added a black-type success (& 43rd individual stakes-winner world-wide) when 6YO gelding Tinamou (Quest For Fame-Whistles, by Royal Academy) raced away for a 4-lengths victory in yesterday's $150,000 Listed Warrnambool Cup (2350m) at Warrnambool in Victoria. Tinamou (ridden by Peter Mertens for trainer Robert Smerdon) defeated fellow 6YO gelding Niwot (Galileo-Too Darn Hot, by Noble Bijou) & 5YO gelding Streaky Fella (Street Cry-Felia, by Noalcoholic).
