Rock Of Gibraltar Adds Italian Black-Type

European Horse-Of-The-Year & 7-time Gr1-winning shuttler Rock Of Gibraltar (Danehill-Offshore Boom, by Be My Guest) added an Italian black-type success overnight when Irish-bred 6YO entire Rockhorse (Rock Of Gibraltar-Maelalong, by Maelstrom Lake) scored a 0.75-length victory in the €61,600 (A$86,000) Listed Premio Bereguardo (1600m) for 4YOs & up at San Siro in Milan. Rockhorse (ridden by Dario Vargiu for trainer Bruno Grizzetti) defeated Polish-bred 5YO gelding Iryklon (Nowogrodek-Imma, by Beaconsfield) & Irish-bred 5YO entire Douce Vie (Desert Prince-Ellendellendoo, by Ela-mana-mou). Rockhorse took his record to 15 wins (also including March's Listed Premio Federico Regoli over 1500m at Pisa) & 10 placings (including April's Listed Premio Natale Di Roma over 1600m at the Capannelle, plus 2010's Listed Premio Nearco over 1600m at Capannelle, as well as 2009's Gr1 Premio Vittorio Di Capua over 1600m at San Siro, Gr3 Premio Chiusura over 1400m at San Siro & Listed Premio Emirates Airline over 1400m at Capannelle) from 36 starts.
