Voice Commander Wins Wagga Wagga Gold Cup

Gr3-winning & multiple Gr1-placed stallion Commands (Danehill-Cotehele House, by My Swanee) added a black-type success when 6YO gelding Voice Commander (Commands-Voice Mail, by Magic Ring) notched his 3rd successive victory when he scored by a nose in the $140,000 Listed Wagga Wagga Gold Cup (2000m) in NSW. Front-running Voice Commander (ridden by Kathy O'Hara for trainer Nick Olive) defeated 4YO gelding World Wide (Universal Prince-See The Stars, by Mr Henrysee) & 5YO gelding Ironstein (Zabeel-Gentle Genius, by Danehill). Voice Commander (a $55,000 yearling consigned by Strathwood Park at the 2005 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale) now has 12 wins (also including both April's Gundagai Cup over 1800m & Queanbeyan Cup over 2000m, plus January's Listed Frank Underwood Cup over 2000m at Rosehill, as well as 2009's Listed Weetwood Handicap over 1300m at Toowoomba & 2008's Listed Festival Stakes over 1500m at Rosehill) & 9 placings (including 2010's Listed Summer Cup over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast, plus both 2009's Listed Eye Liner Stakes over 1350m at Ipswich & Magic Millions Cup over 1400m at the Gold Coast, as well as 2008's Gr2 Phar Lap Stakes over 1550m at Canterbury Park) from 41 starts for $718,730 earnings.
