Gr1-Winner Snapy Halo Retired To Cangon Stud
Cangon Stud Farm owner Jamie Mackay announced Argentine Gr1-winning 6YO stallion Snapy Halo (Southern Halo-Esnaola, by Ringaro) has been retired to stand at his NSW Hunter Valley-based property in 2011 at $7,150. Mackay noted: "We are standing him in conjunction with Kitchwin Hills Stud & some of their clients, so he is going to get some great support from his owners. On top of this we are offering breeders a limited opportunity to purchase a Lifetime Breeding Right in the horse which is priced really attractively (at $11,000)." Snapy Halo (a full-brother to champion Halo Ola) won Argentina's 2009 Gr1 Gran Premio Estrellas Mile (1600m on turf) at Hipodromo San Isidro (in 1min 32.49sec) & finished runner-up in 2008's Gr2 Clasico America over 1600m at San Isidro); overall he notched 6 wins from 19 starts (from 1000-1600m) including 1000m in a blistering 0:55.97sec, 1200m in 1min 8.16sec & 1400m in 1min 20.58sec. His sire Southern Halo (Argentina's leading sire from 1994-2000, plus 2004 & 2007) has produced over 100 stakes-winners (including 50 Gr1-winners, 16 of them champions). And his Gr3-winning dam Esnaola has produced 3 individual Gr1-winners (plus 3 other stakes-placed runners from just 9 foals).
