Therock Retired To Stand at Waterford Stud
Western Australia's Waterford Stud announced it will stand dual Sydney-winning 4YO entire Therock (Fastnet Rock-Bumps, by Scenic) for the 2011 breeding season at $6,050 following his retirement with a career-ending injury. Therock was a $407,000 weanling from the debut crop of last year's Australian Champion 2nd-Season Sire & multiple Gr1-winning stallion Fastnet Rock at the 2007 Magic Millions National Sale. Waterford manager Dale Brooker commented: "Therock was clearly an exceptionally talented horse, was lightly raced, is by Australia's most exciting stallion who himself is by the immortal Danehill. Most importantly, the horse is an outstanding looking thoroughbred & we believe he could become a dominant stallion in the Western Australian breeding industry."
