NZ Horse-Of-Year King's Chapel Sold To South Africa
Windsor Park Stud's multiple Gr1-winning stallion & 2004 New Zealand Horse-Of-The-Year King's Chapel (King Of Kings-Lower Chapel, by Sharpo) has been sold to stand at stud in South Africa. Windsor Park proprietor Nelson Schick confirmed: "After careful consideration, we decided the South African offer provided a greater opportunity for King's Chapel to further his stud career in a country where his sire-line has been so successfully represented by Champion South African Sire Fort Wood." South African bloodstock agent Mark Tarry (who arranged the deal) commented: "I believe King's Chapel will be a great asset to our stallion ranks in South Africa. From the moment I saw the videos of his racing career I became a fan, as he possesses the key ingredients for a stallion of soundness & durability, together with a big match temperament & the ability to accelerate off a fast pace. There is no substitute for racing class & it has become obvious too that stallions demonstrating exceptional racing ability are beginning to dominate South African breeding; you don't have to look beyond the current outstanding stallions Jet Master & Dynasty as cases in point."
