NZ Trainer Bjorn Baker Moving To Sydney

Friday, 13th May 2011

Prominent Kiwi trainer Bjorn Baker (who has been operating in New Zealand in partnership with his father Murray) is moving to Australia to operate from stables at Warwick Farm in western Sydney. Baker confirmed to racenet.com.au: "I'm definitely coming in July. It's exciting times. I see Australia as the land of opportunities. I love racing in Australia; I get a buzz every time I come over & I'm excited with the challenge that's ahead." Baker (who with his father won last year's Gr1 Victoria Derby with Lion Tamer) noted: "We've had our share of success whenever we've travelled horses to Australia in the past & I'm now at a point in my life when the time is right to shift the family & set up base in Sydney."
