1st Stakes Winner For UK Freshman Sire Dutch Art

Cheveley Park Stud's dual Gr1-winning & triple Gr1-placed 7YO freshman stallion Dutch Art (Medicean-Halland Park Lass, by Spectrum) recorded his 1st stakes-winner when unbeaten juvenile daughter Miss Work Of Art (Dutch Art-Lacework, by Pivotal) scored by 1-length in the £30,000 (A$47,000) Listed Marygate Fillies' Stakes (5 furlongs) for 2YO fillies at York. Miss Work Of Art (ridden by Paul Hanagan for trainer Richard Fahey) defeated US-bred Vocational (Exceed And Excel-Carry On Katie, by Fasliyev) & Bubbly Ballerina (Footstepsinthesand-Pain Perdu, by Waajib). Miss Work Of Art was a £29,000 (A$45,000) yearling at the 2010 Doncaster August Sale; overall she now has 3 wins from 3 starts for £27,926 (A$43,000) earnings. Her sire Dutch Art was 2006's unbeaten leading European juvenile with 4 successive victories, including France's Gr1 Darley Prix Morny (1200m) at Deauville, the UK Gr1 Shadwell Middle Park Stakes (6 furlongs) at Newmarket & UK Gr2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. As a 3YO in 2007 he followed-up with major placings in the UK Gr1 2000 Guineas (8 furlongs) at Newmarket, UK Gr1 Darley July Cup (6 furlongs) at Newmarket & French Gr1 Prix Maurice de Gheest (1300m) at Deauville. He is standing the 2011 season at Cheveley Park for £5,000 (A$7,800).
