Benfica Wins Hampden Stakes

Former Australian Racehorse-Of-The-Year & 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a 2nd black-type success (& 24th individual stakes-winner) when favoured juvenile colt Benfica (Lonhro-Hut, by Danehill) scored a 3.25-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed Hampden Stakes (1200m) for 2YOs at Doomben. Benfica (ridden by Damien Browne for trainer Peter Snowden) defeated the fillies Saramenha (Snitzel-Speedy Topaze, by Woodman) & Playtime (Foreplay-Boganvillia, by Centaine).
