Black Caviar Wins Gr1 BTC Cup

On the Australian track, Eliza Park Stud's multiple Gr1-winning sire Bel Esprit (Royal Academy-Bespoken, by Vain) added a Gr1 triumph when unbeaten 4YO mare & the world's highest-rated horse Black Caviar (Bel Esprit-Helsinge, by Desert Sun) notched her 6th successive Gr1 victory with a 2-lengths win in the $400,000 weight-for-age Gr1 BTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben in Brisbane. Hot favourite Black Caviar (ridden by Luke Nolen for trainer Peter Moody) defeated front-running 5YO gelding Hay List (Statue Of Liberty-Sing Hallelujah, by Is It True) with a further 4.75-lengths back to 3YO gelding Buffering (Mossman-Action Annie, by Anabaa). Overall Black Caviar (a $210,000 yearling consigned by Swettenham Stud at the 2008 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne) now has 13 wins (also including April's Gr1 T.J.Smith Stakes over 1200m at Randwick, both March's Gr1 William Reid Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley & Gr1 Newmarket Handicap over 1200m at Flemington, plus February's Gr1 Lightning Stakes over 1000m at Flemington, as well as 2010's Gr1 Patinack Farm Classic over 1200m at Flemington, Gr2 Schweppes Stakes over 1200m at Mooney Valley, Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield & Gr2 Australia Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley, in addition to 2009's Gr2 Danehill Stakes over 1200m at Flemington, Listed Arrow Training Services Plate over 1200m at Moonee Valley & Listed Blue Sapphire Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield) from 13 starts for $3,474,050 earnings.
