Jake Noonan May Leave Hospital This Week
Victorian apprentice Jake Noonan "is making steady progress after his sickening fall (at Flemington a week ago) & is expected to be moved from hospital to a rehabilitation centre this week," reported The Herald-Sun. Noonan, 18, has improved "noticeably" in the week since falling & his father, trainer Tony Noonan, said his son was "spending more time awake, but still tired quickly & required assistance to walk". Tony Noonan added: "He's quite lucid. He looked at the form on Saturday & listened to Black Caviar's race. He's made a big improvement from last Sunday when he was knocked out & incoherent. He recognises everyone & enjoys reading the paper. His brain tires as the day goes on & he still spends long periods sleeping. It's just a case of rest & his brain healing. All going well, we're looking at Jake going into a rehabilitation hospital some time this week."
