Rocket Man & Sacred Kingdom On Singapore Track

Wednesday, 18th May 2011

In Singapore, star Australian-bred sprinters Rocket Man (15 wins & 4 runners-up from 19 starts) & Sacred Kingdom (7-time Gr1-winning former World Champion Sprinter & 2010 Hong Kong Horse-Of-The-Year) appeared on the track at Kranji yesterday morning amid final preparations for Sunday’s S$1 million (A$800,000) Gr1 KrisFlyer International Sprint (1200m).

  • 5YO gelding Rocket Man (Viscount-Macrosa, by McGinty) took off from the 1000m & ran 600m in 34.5secs (the last 200m in 11.5 secs) & trainer Patrick Shaw commented: “That was just perfect. He is spot-on. His weight is 476kg today after the gallop & I can expect around 480kg this afternoon. His work is now done. I’ll just keep him ticking over until raceday.”
  • Trainer Ricky Yiu’s assistant Ricky Chung said 7YO gelding Sacred Kingdom (Encosta De Lago-Courtroom Sweetie, by Zeditave) “just had a slow canter on the Polytrack. He hacked along early. He’s looking really good at the moment & I was very happy with him this morning. He is doing everything right at the moment.”
