Aust-Bred Sprinters Trackwork Before Singapore Gr1

Friday, 20th May 2011

Meanwhile Australian-bred sprinters Sacred Kingdom, Rocket Man & Better Be The One continued with their final preparations for Sunday's S$1 million (A$800,000) Gr1 KrisFlyer International Sprint (1200m).

  • Sacred Kingdom galloped on the Polytrack, covering 600m in 36.9sec (the last 200m 11.9sec) & trainer Ricky Yiu declared: "He's as good as ever. He's a good traveller & is enjoying himself here. He's still a bit full of himself but Glen (Boss jockey) said he felt good in his action & was striding out well. He'll run a good race."
  • Rocket Man: Trainer Patrick Shaw said: "All's well, he's a happy horse. He just had a hack around the Polytrack this morning. He's eating well, drinking well & I couldn't be happier with his condition going into the race. We can only keep our fingers crossed. Felix (Coetzee jockey) will ride him at half-pace tomorrow on the Polytrack & that would be it."
  • Better Be The One: Trainer Michael Freedman said: "He went for a swim & it is all systems go from here."
