1st Winner For US Freshman Sire High Cotton

US Gr3-winning 8YO freshman stallion High Cotton (Dixie Union-Happy Tune, by A.P.Indy) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO colt Tarpy's Goal (High Cotton-Terre des Hommes, by Exbourne) scored on debut over 5 furlongs at Churchill Downs for trainer Dale Romans. Tarpy's Goal was originally a US$8,500 weanling & subsequently sold for US$70,000 at this year's Fasig-Tipton February Sale. His sire High Cotton (a US$110,000 yearling at the 2004 Keeneland September sale) notched 4 wins from 6-8.5 furlongs (including the Gr3 Northern Dancer Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs, Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park & Sir Barton Stakes at Pimlico) & 5 placings (including the Gr2 Ohio Derby, Gr2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes & Gr3 Iroquois Stakes) from 17 starts for US$462,574 earnings.
