Woorim Wins BTC Sprint

Monday, 23rd May 2011

Glenlogan Park stallion & former Australian champion 1st-season sire Show A Heart (Brave Warrior-Miss Sandman, by Regal Advice) added a group success when 5YO gelding Woorim (Show A Heart-Wabble, by Canadian Silver) flashed home from last-in-running to snatch victory in a 3-way photo-finish to the $125,000 Gr3 BTC Sprint (1350m) at Doomben. Woorim (ridden by Damien Browne for trainer Robert Heathcote) scored by a half-neck from favoured 4YO gelding Listen Son (Big Jesse-Backstage Star, by Regal Classic) with a further short-halfhead to fellow 5YO gelding Thankgodyou'rehere (Secret Savings-Winifred's Prayer, by Tierce). Woorim (passed-in for $65,000 when consigned by Glenlogan Park as agent at the 2007 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale) now has 7 wins (also including 2010's Listed Glasshouse Handicap over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast) & 9 placings (including both 2010's Gr1 Patinack Farm Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield & Listed Superstable Stakes over 1400m at Flemington) from 28 starts for $442,250 earnings.
