Goffs To Auction Ireland's Historic Loughtown Stud

In Ireland, Goffs Country (the property arm of the Irish sales house) "has been instructed to auction the historic Loughtown Stud in County Kildare" reported racingpost.com. Loughtown Stud "has secured its place in thoroughbred history as the birthplace of Ragusa (winner of the Gr1 Irish Derby, Gr1 St Leger, Gr1 King George & Gr1 Eclipse Stakes) & also for standing Archive (sire of Arkle), as well as Ballad Rock, Henbit, Larkspur, Raise You Ten & Red God". The property (171 acres on limestone land, with a ranch-style residence, manager's house, staff accommodation, 54 boxes & a range of out-buildings) "is presently owned by Spaniard Felipe Hinojosa & goes under the hammer on June 29 with a guide price of €4.5 million (A$6.255m)".
