Tuesday, 24th May 2011

However Warrnambool's "famous jumps racing carnival will stay in May if the club & the Australian Jumping Racing Association have their way" reported The Herald-Sun. AJRA president Rodney Rae said the Warrnambool carnival was a "time-honoured event with a very successful formula" & declared: "Any suggestion that the recipe be changed would need to stand up to comprehensive critical analysis. It is more than just a racing carnival. It is a key economic issue for the Warrnambool community." And Warrnambool Racing Club chief executive John Green said the club would "strongly defend its May dates".
