Maryland 2YOs Day-1: US$250k Harlan's Holiday Colt

Wednesday, 25th May 2011

EQB agent Patrice Miller (acting for an unidentified client) paid US$250,000 for a colt by Harlan’s Holiday (out of winning Lear Fan mare Motivated Sreva) consigned by McKathan Bros as agent. The colt (whose dam Motivated Sreva is a half-sister to Gr2-winner Adore The Gold) previously sold for US$180,000 as a weanling at the 2009 Keeneland November Sale & clocked 10.6sec for 1 furlong during the pre-sale breeze-up session. EQB president Jeff Seder said that the colt was “a clear standout” & told thoroughbredtimes.com: “For his age, he’s fast, clean & has all the physiological cues that says he’s in the top 3% to 4% of the breed. You can’t look in his brain to know if he has courage, but a lot of other factors we can measure are positive.”
