Trevor Lobb New CEO At Emirates Park

Thursday, 26th May 2011

Emirates Park principal His Excellency Nasser Lootah announced Trevor Lobb has been appointed the stud’s new chief executive. Over 2 decades, Lobb previously headed the development of the most expansive individual thoroughbred operation anywhere in the southern hemisphere: Jack & Bob Ingham’s racing & breeding enterprises, including the purchase of Woodlands studs at Denman & Cootamundra, plus in the creation of Crown Lodge at Warwick Farm. Under the Woodlands banner, Lobb & his team successfully launched the stud careers of Crown Jester, Quest For Fame, Grand Lodge, Dr Grace, Strategic, Canny Lad, Commands, Domesday, Ad Valorem & of course Lonhro. Lobb also supervised the selection & mating of the entire Woodlands broodmare band, establishing many of the most coveted female families now found in the Australian Stud Book. On the racing front, Lobb oversaw the purchase of dozens of top-line Ingham-owned runners, most notably the multi-champion Octagonal, as well as the management of home-bred runners such as Guineas, Strategic, Dracula, Unworldly, Freemason, Viscount, Denman & Lonhro. When Woodlands was sold to Sheikh Mohammed al Maktoum in 2008, Lobb became a senior member of Darley’s management team. In addition, he is currently the chairman of Thoroughbred Breeders’ Australia. Emirates Park’s current 2-state operation involves: studs at Murrurundi in NSW & Diggers Rest in Victoria; a stallion roster of 6 sires; one of the finest broodmare bands owned by any breeding outfit in Australia; & a racing team of approximately 50 gallopers.
