Beaded Wins Gr1 Doomben 10,000

On the Australian track, former Australian Horse-Of-The-Year & 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a Gr1 triumph when 5YO mare Beaded (Lonhro-Subtle, by Night Shift) scored by a short-head in the $650,000 weight-for-age Gr1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) at Doomben in Brisbane. Beaded (ridden by Corey Brown for trainer Peter Snowden) defeated favoured 4YO entire Love Conquers All (Mossman-She's A Meanie, by Prince Salieri) & 7YO Black Piranha (Clang-Jazztrack, by Distinctly North) who won this race in the previous 2 years. Beaded took her record to 10 wins (also including February’s Gr3 Hyderabad Race Club Stakes 1200m at Caulfield, plus 2010's Gr3 Darley BRC Sprint over 1350m at Doomben & Listed Wenona Girl Handicap over 1200m at Randwick, as well as 2009's Listed Yalumba Wines Cup over 1300m at Hawkesbury) & 9 placings (including both March’s Gr1 Sportingbet Classic over 1200m at Morphettville & Gr1 Newmarket Handicap over 1200m at Flemington, plus 2010's Gr1 All Aged Stakes over 1400m at Randwick, Gr1 Winter Stakes over 1400m at Eagle Farm, Gr2 Sapphire Stakes over 1200m at Randwick, Gr2 Salinger Stakes over 1200m at Flemington & Gr3 Birthday Card Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill) from 20 starts for $1,233,780 earnings.
