Magic Millions Mares Day-1: $1m Sister Madly

Monday, 30th May 2011

In the auction ring, Bill Mitchell (acting on behalf of Segenhoe Stud) paid $1 million for Gr3-winning & dual Gr1-placed 4YO mare Sister Madly (Redoute's Choice-Jade Tiara, by Bureaucracy) during yesterday’s opening session of the 3-day broodmare section at the 10-day Magic Millions National Sale on the Queensland Gold Coast. Sister Madly (consigned by Ian Smith’s Edinburgh Park) is a half-sister to multiple Gr1-winning star Hong Kong sprinter Silent Witness & Mitchell declared: “She's a beautiful mare & Segenhoe are delighted to have purchased her. She is an outstanding type. The mare still has a future on the racetrack & she will be heading to the stables of John Sadler in Melbourne prior to joining the broodmare band at Segenhoe. She is by a champion sire & is a half-sister to a champion sprinter in Silent Witness - she has a lot going for her.”
