Ask The Moon Wins US Gr1 Personal Ensign Stakes

The 6YO mare Ask The Moon (Malibu Moon-Always Asking, by Valid Appeal) notched her 2nd successive Gr1 triumph with a 2.75-lengths victory in the US$300,000 Gr1 Personal Ensign Invitational Stakes (10 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Saratoga. Ask The Moon (ridden by Javier Castellano for trainer Martin Wolfson) defeated 5YO mare Pachattack (Pulpit-El Laoob, by Red Ransom) & 4YO mare Tiz Miz Sue (Tiznow-Sue's Good News, by Woodman). Ask The Moon (a US$45,000 yearling at the 2006 Fasig-Tipton October Sale & subsequently a US$125,000 2YO at the 2007 Ocala Breeders March Sale) took her record to 10 wins (also including July’s Gr1 Ruffian Invitational Handicap over 9 furlongs at Saratoga, plus 2009’s Listed Lighthouse Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Monmouth Park & 2008’s Listed Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship Stakes over 8 furlongs at Laurel Park) & 12 placings (including July’s Listed Sky Beauty Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Belmont Park, plus 2010’s Listed Lady's Secret Stakes over 9 furlongs at Monmouth Park, Listed Honey Bee Stakes over 8 furlongs at Monmouth Park, Listed All Brandy Stakes over 8 furlongs at Laurel Park, Listed Politely Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Monmouth Park & Listed Monmouth Beach Stakes over 8 furlongs at Monmouth Park, as well as 2009’s Listed Revidere Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Monmouth Park) from 32 starts for US$713,640 earnings.
