Former Widden Stud shuttler Belong To Me (Danzig-Belonging, by Exclusive Native) added a US graded-stakes success when 4YO gelding Mister Marti Gras (Belong To Me-Miss Marta, by Cure The Blues) scored by a neck in the US$100,000 Gr3 Washington Park Handicap (9 furlongs) at Arlington Park in Chicago. Mister Marti Gras (ridden by Eduardo Perez for trainer Chris Block) defeated 4YO mare Maristar (Giant's Causeway-Jewel Princess, by Key To The Mint) & fellow 4YO gelding Workin For Hops (City Zip-Citi Pearl, by Citidancer). Mister Marti Gras took his record to 5 wins (also including 2010’s Listed Oliver Stakes over 8 furlongs at Indiana Downs) & 6 placings (including July’s Gr3 Arlington Handicap over 10 furlongs at Arlington Park & April’s Gr3 Ben Ali Stakes over 9 furlongs at Keeneland, plus 2010’s Gr2 American Derby over 9.5 furlongs at Arlington Park & Gr3 Hawthorne Derby over 9 furlongs at Hawthorne) from 17 starts for US$416,996 earnings.
