Oratorio Adds UK Black-Type

Triple European Gr1-winning shuttler Oratorio (Danehill-Mahrah, by Vaguely Noble) added a UK black-type success when Irish-bred 3YO colt King Torus (Oratorio-Dipterous, by Mujadil) scored by a neck against older rivals in the £30,000 (A$45,000) Listed Superior Mile (8 furlongs) at Haydock Park. King Torus (ridden by Richard Hughes for trainer Richard Hannon) defeated fellow Irish-bred 3YO colt Questioning (Elusive Quality-Am I, by Thunder Gulch) & 4YO mare Dark Promise (Shamardal-La Sky, by Law Society). King Torus was a €30,000 (A$43,000) yearling at Ireland's 2009 Goffs Million Sale. Overall he now has 3 wins (also including last start's Gr2 Superlative Stakes over 7 furlongs at Newmarket on July 9) from 4 starts. (Jul 29) 2010 King Torus was a €30,000 (A$40,000) yearling at Ireland's 2009 Goffs Million Sale. Overall he now has 4 wins (also including both 2010’s Gr2 Vintage Stakes over 7 furlongs at Goodwood & Gr2 Superlative Stakes over 7 furlongs at Newmarket) from 7 starts for £111,622 (A$167,000) earnings.
