Specter Wins Henry Bucks Stakes

Monday, 5th September 2011

Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes-winning 2nd-crop stallion Nadeem (Redoute's Choice-Candide, by Sound Reason) added a black-type success (& 2nd individual stakes-winner) when his colt Specter (Nadeem-Woman In White, by Daylami) gained the judge’s decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $125,000 Listed Henry Bucks Stakes (1400m) for 3YOs at Flemington. Specter (ridden by Nicholas Hall for trainer Anthony Freedman) scored by a long-head from fellow colt Chase The Rainbow (Dash For Cash-Illusional, by Redoute's Choice) with a further head to the gelding Secret Hills (Starcraft-Hill Of Peace, by Danehill). Specter (an $80,000 yearling consigned by Makybe at the 2010 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 2 wins & a runner-up from 3 starts for $94,425 earnings.
