Tuesday, 4th October 2011

In France, Japanese-bred & Kentucky-based multiple Gr1-winning 10-year-old freshman stallion & former shuttler Hat Trick (Sunday Silence-Tricky Code, by Lost Code) added a juvenile Gr1 triumph when unbeaten colt Dabirsim (Hat Trick-Rumored, by Royal Academy) came from back in the field to maintain his perfect record with a 0.75-length victory in the €350,000 (A$480,000) Gr1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-Grand Criterium (1400m) for 2YOs at Longchamp. Favourite Dabirsim (ridden by Frankie Dettori for trainer Christophe Ferland) defeated fellow colts Sofast (Rock Of Gibraltar-Beautifix, by Bering) & front-running UK-bred Salure (Sakhee-Davie's Lure, by Lure). Dabirsim was a €30,000 (A$41,000) yearling at the 2010 Arqana August Sale. Overall he now has 5 wins (also including August’s Gr1 Prix Morny over 1200m at Deauville & July’s Gr3 Prix De Cabourg over 1200m at Deauville) from 5 starts for €460,480 (A$631,000) earnings.
