Tuesday, 4th October 2011

Former shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a French juvenile Gr1 triumph when front-running US-bred daughter Elusive Kate (Elusive Quality-Gout De Terroir, by Lemon Drop Kid) scored a 3-lengths victory in the €300,000 (A$411,000) Gr1 Marcel Boussac-Criterium Des Pouliches (1600m) for 2YO fillies at Longchamp. Elusive Kate (ridden by William Buick for trainer John Gosden) defeated Irish-bred Fire Lily (Dansili-Beauty Is Truth, by Pivotal) & favoured UK-bred Zantenda (Zamindar-Tender Morn, by Dayjur). Elusive Kate (a US$70,000 yearling at the 2010 Keeneland September Sale) now has 4 wins (also including August’s French Gr3 Prix Du Calvados over 1400m at Deauville & July’s Listed Prix Six Perfections over 1400m at Deauville) from 5 starts for €243,135 (A$333,000) earnings.
