Former shuttler Peintre Celebre (Nureyev-Peinture Bleue, by Alydar) added a French group success when Prince Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms UK home-bred 5YO entire Byword (Peintre Celebre-Binche, by Woodman) scored by a short-neck in the €130,000 (A$178,000) Gr2 Prix Dollar (1950m) at Longchamp. Byword (also ridden by Maxime Guyon for trainer Andre Fabre) defeated 5YO gelding Cirrus Des Aigles (Even Top-Taille De Guepe, by Septieme Ciel) & 4YO entire Shimraan (Rainbow Quest-Shemriyna, by King Of Kings). Byword (unraced as a 2YO) took his record to 7 wins (also including June’s French Gr3 Prix Du Chemin De Fer Du Nord over 1600m at Chantilly, plus 2010’s UK Gr1 Prince Of Wales's Stakes over 10 furlongs at Royal Ascot, French Gr2 Prix Du Muguet over 1600m at Saint-Cloud & French Listed Prix Jacques Laffitte over 1800m at Maisons-Laffitte, plus 2009's French Listed Prix Pelleas over 2000m at Compiegne) & 7 placings (including May’s French Gr2 Prix Du Muguet over 1600m at Saint-Cloud, plus 2010’s UK Gr1 Juddmonte International Stakes over 10.5 furlongs at York & French Gr1 Prix D'Ispahan over 1850m at Longchamp) from 14 starts for €749,551 (A$1.027m) earnings.
