Secret Admirer Wins Gr1 Epsom Handicap

Triple Gr1-winning former shuttler Dubawi (Dubai Millennium-Zomaradah, by Deploy) added a Gr1 triumph when 4YO mare Secret Admirer (Dubawi-Secret Illusion, by Secret Savings) motored home from the rear of the field to score a 1.75-lengths victory in the $500,000 Gr1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Royal Randwick in Sydney. Secret Admirer (ridden by Brenton Avdulla for trainer Grahame Begg) defeated fellow 4YO mares Pinker Pinker (Reset-Miss Marion, by Success Express) & Red Tracer (Dane Shadow-Kisma, by Snippets). Secret Admirer (passed-in as a yearling for $38,000 on a $40,000 reserve when consigned by Milburn Creek Thoroughbreds at the 2009 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney) now has 3 wins (also including 2010’s Gr1 Flight Stakes over 1600m at Randwick) & 4 placings (including September’s Gr3 Tramway Handicap over 1400m at Warwick Farm & August’s Listed Toy Show Quality over 1300m at Warwick Farm, plus 2010’s Listed Reginald Allen Quality over 1400m at Randwick) from 8 starts for $642,030 earnings.
