Stacelita Wins US Gr1 Flower Bowl Invitational

Martin Schwartz's French-bred now 6-time Gr1-winning & triple Gr1-placed 5YO mare Stacelita (Monsun-Soignee, by Dashing Blade) scored a 2-lengths victory in the US$500,000 Gr1 Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes (10 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Belmont Park. Favourite Stacelita (ridden by Ramon Dominguez for trainer Chad Brown) defeated 4YO mare Distorted Legacy (Distorted Humor-Bunting, by Private Account) & front-running fellow 5YO mare Dynaslew (Dynaformer-Slews Final Answer, by Seattle Slew). Stacelita now boasts 10 wins (also including August’s Gr1 Beverly D Stakes over 9.5 furlongs at Arlington Park, plus 2010’s French Gr1 Prix Jean Romanet over 2000m at Deauville & French Gr3 La Coupe over 2000m at Longchamp, as well as 2009's French Gr1 Prix Vermeille over 2400m at Longchamp, French Gr1 Prix De Diane over 2100m at Chantilly, French Gr1 Prix Saint-Alary over 2000m at Longchamp & French Listed Prix Rose De Mai over 2100m at Saint-Cloud) & 4 placings (in July’s US Gr1 United Nations Stakes at over 11 furlongs at Monmouth Park & June’s French Gr3 La Coupe over 2000m at Longchamp, plus 2010’s UK Gr1 Nassau Stakes over 10 furlongs at Goodwood & French Gr1 Prix De L'Opera over 2000m at Longchamp) from 16 starts for US$2,372,268 earnings.
