Temple Of Boom Wins Gilgai Stakes

Former Eureka Stud shuttler Piccolo (Warning-Woodwind, by Whistling Wind) added a group success when 5YO gelding Temple Of Boom (Piccolo-Temple Spirit, by Special Dane) score a 1.25-lengths victory in the $250,000 Gr2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at Flemington. Temple Of Boom (ridden by James McDonald for trainer Tony Gollan) defeated 4YO mare Sistine Angel (Testa Rossa-Famous Painter, by Peintre Celebre) & 5YO mare Response (Charge Forward-Live It Up, by Match Winner). Temple Of Boom (a $40,000 yearling consigned by Eureka Thoroughbreds at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast January Sale) now has 9 wins (also including August’s Gr3 Aurie’s Star Handicap over 1200m at Flemington & January’s Magic Millions Sprint over 1000m at the Gold Coast, plus 2010’s Listed Swisse Vitamins Stakes over 1100m at Flemington) & 8 placings (including 2009's Listed Golden Stakes over 1200m at Doomben) from 24 starts for $836,995 earnings.
