1st Winner For Irish Sire Vinnie Roe

In Ireland, multiple Gr1-winning 11-year-old stallion Vinnie Roe (Definite Article-Kayu, by Tap On Wood) who won the Gr1 Irish St Leger 4 times between 2001-2004 for Dermot Weld & contested the Gr1 Melbourne Cup 3 times (finishing 2nd behind Makybe Diva in 2004 & 4th behind stable-mate Media Puzzle in 2002) recorded his 1st winner when 4YO gelding Mumbo Jumbo (Vinnie Roe-Top Lot, by Topanoora) “landed a bumper at Gowran Park” for trainer Mags Mullins, reported racingpost.com. Mumbo Jumbo was a €60,000 (A$82,000) foal at the Tattersalls Ireland Sale. Vinnie Roe (who won 13 races, also including the French Gr1 Prix Royal-Oak) “stands under the Coolmore jumps banner at Grange Stud at a fee of €2,000 (A$2,750)”.
