6 Internationals Remain In Caulfield Cup

Wednesday, 5th October 2011

The John Moore-trained Mighty High is 1 of 6 internationally-trained horses still in contention for the Caulfield Cup, alongside the Luca Cumani-trained quartet Manighar, Drunken Sailor, Sahara Sun & Bauer, plus fellow UK-trained stayer Saptapadi for Brian Ellison. Anthony Freedman’s German import Lucas Cranach was also paid up for the race; however the Bart Cummings stable elected not to proceed with its German import Illo (who is also in quarantine at Werribee). The most notable withdrawals were French raider Dunaden (who is targeting the Geelong Cup) & a quartet of horses that will focus on the Cox Plate (Lion Tamer, King’s Rose, Rekindled Interest & Playing God). Final acceptances for the Caulfield Cup will be taken next Tuesday 11 October.
