So You Think Likely To Race Next Year

Wednesday, 5th October 2011

Former Australian superstar & 8-time Gr1-winning 5YO entire So You Think (High Chaparral-Triassic, by Tights) who finished 4th (after starting from outside barrier 14) in the weekend’s French Gr1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (2400m) at Longchamp in Paris is likely to keep racing next year. Coolmore Australia racing manager Tom Magnier told Sky Sports Radio: “We think this horse can keep winning these Gr1 races. The trainer (majority owner Coolmore’s Ballydoyle-based Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien) thinks there is a hell of a lot in the horse's tank. Let's get this season out of the way & I'd say we'd probably continue into next season. You can't take anything away from the horse. In the closing stages (of the Arc) he kept fighting. He fought on & on & on. We are disappointed he didn't finish closer, but there is still plenty of horse to go on with.” Magnier added So You Think's next start could be in the UK Gr1 Champion Stakes at Ascot (during British Champions Day on October 15) & noted: “We'll see how he pulls up, but that would be an option that would be seriously considered. The Arc didn't go our way, but he's won an unbelievable amount of Gr1s & we want to keep showing the world what he can do.”
