US Sire Sierra Sunset To Stud At Rancho San Miguel

US Gr2-winning 6YO stallion Sierra Sunset (Bertrando-Toot Sweet, by Pirate’s Bounty) will stand his 1st year at stud in 2012 at Rancho San Miguel in California, reported bloodhorse.com. Sierra Sunset won or placed in 9 of his 14 starts (including victories in the Gr2 Rebel Stakes, Listed Bay Meadows Juvenile Stakes, Listed California Cup Juvenile Stakes & Listed Alamedan Handicap, plus runner-up in the Gr3 Southwest Stakes) for US$459,696 earnings. Sierra Sunset’s stakes-placed damToot Sweet is a half-sister to stakes-winner Kaylem Ho (dam of Gr1-winner Private Persuasion); the female family includes 2008 Gr1 Belmont Stakes winner Da' Tara.
