Monday, 10th October 2011

Clare Lindop, 32, became the 1st Australian female jockey to ride 1,000 winners when Arrowfield Stud 5-time Gr1-winning stallion Starcraft (Soviet Star-Flying Floozie, by Pompeii Court) added a black-type success (& 10th individual stakes-winner) as favoured colt Perfect Punch (Starcraft-Tayasu Run, by Tayasu Tsuyoshi) notched his 3rd successive win with a 0.75-length victory in the $80,000 Listed Hill Smith Stakes (1900m) for 3YOs at Morphettville in Adelaide. Perfect Punch (ridden by Lindop for trainers Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas) defeated the filly Quench The Thirst (Encosta De Lago-Monsoon Wedding, by Danehill) & the gelding Mossego (Mossman-Nic's Sister, by Scenic). Perfect Punch (a $300,000 yearling consigned by Mill Park at the 2010 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne) now has 3 wins & 2 placings from 5 starts for $110,600 earnings.
