In Ireland overnight, dual Gr1-winning shuttler Holy Roman Emperor (Danehill-L'On Vite, by Secretariat) added a juvenile black-type success when daughter Homecoming Queen (Holy Roman Emperor-Lagrion, by Diesis) scored a 4.25-lengths victory in the €40,000 (A$55,000) Listed Lanwades & Staffordstown Studs Stakes (9 furlongs) for 2YO fillies at The Curragh. Homecoming Queen (ridden by Joseph O’Brien for trainer Aidan O’Brien) defeated Absolute Crackers (Giant's Causeway-El Laoob, by Red Ransom) & US-bred Ronan’s Bay (Johannesburg-Muskoka Dawn, by Miswaki). Homecoming Queen (a 3/4-sister to former European Horse-Of-The-Year & 6-time Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler Dylan Thomas) now has 2 wins & 3 placings (including September’s Gr3 C.L.Weld Park Stakes over 7 furlongs at The Curragh) from 10 starts for €45,797 (A$63,000) earnings.
