Montjeu Adds UK Gr2

Monday, 10th October 2011

Dual-Derby winning sire & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a UK juvenile group success (& 98th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when Irish-bred daughter Wading (Montjeu-Cherry Hinton, by Green Desert) scored a 2-lengths victory in the £60,000 (A$96,000) Gr2 Rockfel Stakes (7 furlongs) for 2YO fillies at Newmarket. Wading (ridden by Ryan Moore for trainer Aidan O’Brien) defeated Irish-bred Pimpernel (Invincible Spirit-Anna Pallida, by Sadler's Wells) & front-running Gray Pearl (Excellent Art-Divine Grace, by Definite Article). Wading took her record to 2 wins & a runner-up from 3 starts for £43,828 (A$70,000) earnings.
