Shewan Wins Herbert Power Stakes

Kambula Stud's Gr1 Victoria Derby-winning sire Blevic (Scenic-Blooms, by Biscay) added a group success (& 23rd individual stakes-winner) when favoured 5YO gelding Shewan (Blevic-Aberdeen Rose, by Clay Hero) finished strongly from back in the field to score by a short-neck in the $200,000 Gr2 Herbert Power Stakes (2400m) at Caulfield. Shewan (ridden by Chris Symons for trainer Robert Smerdon) defeated fellow 5YO gelding Tanby (Galileo-Dane Belltar, by Danewin) & top-weighted 7YO gelding Moyenne Corniche (Selkirk-Miss Corniche, by Hernando). Shewan now has 5 wins & 6 placings (including February’s Listed Mornington Cup over 2400m) from 15 starts for $258,568 earnings.
