So You Think Firms As Favourite For UK Gr1 Champion

Thursday, 13th October 2011

In the UK overnight, former Australian superstar & 8-time Gr1-winning 5YO entire So You Think (High Chaparral-Triassic, by Tights) shortened from 9-4 into “a strong 2-1 favourite” for Saturday's UK Gr1 Champion Stakes (10 furlongs) at Ascot after trainer Aidan O’Brien confirmed his Ballydoyle stable-mate Await The Dawn (which had been 7-1 in early betting) “is likely to miss the race” reported racingpost.com. Lucy Rhodes, spokeswoman for leading bookmaking firm William Hill, commented: “Following the confirmation Await The Dawn will be an unlikely participant in the Champion Stakes, we’ve trimmed So You Think into 2-1 from 9-4, with the increasing likelihood of the 8-time Gr1-winner being Ballydoyle’s only serious challenger for Britain’s richest ever race.”
