UK Tatts Yearlings Book-2 Day-2: Average Up 9%

The Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 2 continued to “bewilder on-lookers” overnight with its strength on the 2nd day, with a clearance rate “rarely if ever seen at a yearling sale” & 13 lots breaking the 6-figure barrier, taking the total after 2 days to 32 (more than the whole sale registered last year) with a day to go. Overall during the session, 219 lots sold for 8,684,000 guineas (A$14.329m) which was up 19% on the same day last year. The average of 39,653 guineas (A$65,400) was up 9% & the median of 30,000 guineas (A$49,500) was up 13%. The clearance rate saw an unprecedented 88% of lots offered, rising to 92% when private sales are included.
