Thursday, 13th October 2011

Flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & former Australian Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a black-type success (& 78th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when 5YO gelding War Ends (Redoute's Choice-Good News, by Don't Forget Me) scored by a nose in yesterday’s $80,000 Listed Murray Bridge Gold Cup (1600m) in South Australia. War Ends (ridden by Joe Bowditch for trainer Mark Kavanagh) defeated 9YO gelding Sandhill Prince (Staaraq-Miss Thornhill, by Fixed Flush) & fellow 5YO gelding Too Many Reds (Magic Albert-Red Centre, by Rubiton). War Ends (a $400,000 yearling consigned from Amarina Farm at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) is a half-brother to Gr1 Victoria Derby winner Hit The Roof & took his record to 5 wins & 3 placings from 19 starts for $216,093 earnings.
