UK Tatts Yearlings Book-2 Day-2: $380k Acclamation Colt
Bloodstock agent John Warren (acting on behalf of Leicestershire-based George & Jackie Smith, owners of 1993 St Leger winner Bob's Return) paid 230,000 guineas (A$380,000) for a colt by Rathbarry Stud’s resident stallion Acclamation (out of Selkirk mare Week End) consigned from Ireland’s Rathbarry as agent. Warren noted: “I have bought 4 yearlings for them (the Smiths) - 3 colts & a filly. We missed out on a number of good colts last week (at Tattersalls Book 1), but this horse was the pick of this sale. He is an exceptional individual.” Yearlings by Acclamation have been in great demand at Tattersalls Book 2 this week, following the exploits of his 2YOs this year (which have included 6 Group winners). Over the 3 days of Book 2, 15 lots by Acclamation were offered, with 14 selling for a total of 1,643,000 guineas (A$2,711m) at an average of 117,357 guineas (A$194,000).
